Casona del Colegio
Colombian craft-forward design boutique. Quiet and intentional — no DJ, no pool party. Every object in the building has a Colombian origin story. The reception desk countertop is literally carved in the shape of the region.

Why It Matters
One of only a handful of Colombian hotels to earn a MICHELIN Key (2025). It's independently owned and every centimeter of the design was executed by local Colombian artisans, architects, and craftspeople — from the handwoven fibers to the stone and polished brass fixtures. The suites' brick arches and timbered ceilings are original colonial architecture.
A restored colonial house in Cartagena's Walled City turned 13-room boutique hotel. The bones are 16th-century — exposed brick arches, timbered ceilings in the suites — but the interiors are unambiguously 21st century: bold textiles, polished brass, native woods, and art commissioned from Colombian artisans and indigenous communities. Awarded One MICHELIN Key 2025, and recognized by Johansens and the World Luxury Hotel Awards. The rooftop holds a heated pool with terracotta-roof views, La Sierra Spa, and a small guests-only bar. Restaurant Bar Costa handles Colombian-Caribbean cooking from breakfast through late dinner.
