Why It Matters
One of the few luxury properties in the world that is also a fully functioning agricultural estate — producing Brunello di Montalcino wine (the fifth largest producer in the region), growing organic vegetables for the kitchen, and maintaining a private 18-hole golf course open only to guests and members. The scale and authenticity of the operation sets it apart.
A fully intact, 900-year-old agricultural estate covering 5,000 acres in the Val d'Orcia, just outside Montalcino. The hotel itself — 42 suites and 11 private villas — is built into a restored medieval borgo, complete with a small stone church and castle ruins dating to 1100 AD. But the hotel is really just the entrance point to something much larger: a working Brunello di Montalcino winery, Italy's only private golf club, an organic kitchen garden, a cooking school, and endless countryside to explore.

Borgo Suite
One-bedroom suite in the historic borgo with airy Tuscan-inspired interiors, Italian furnishings, exposed wooden beams, and antique accents. Pairs a large lounge with a spacious primary bedroom. Bathroom has both a walk-in rain shower and a separate soaking bathtub, plus a powder room. Terraces, pergolas, and garden views typical. Bath amenities by Angeli di Firenze from Santa Maria Novella. Some suites were originally stables — ochre-yellow walls, pale fabrics, and majolica tiles in bathrooms.
Private Villa (Estate Villas)
Eleven one-of-a-kind private villas converted from 17th- and 18th-century Tuscan farmhouses, each unique in layout, size, and setting. All feature terraces and gardens, a private heated infinity pool, and come with a Land Rover Defender (or similar 4x4) for the duration of the stay. Villa rates include daily breakfast, one restaurant meal per day, a Tuscan grocery 'Dispensa' stocked and replenished daily, and dedicated housekeeping from 8am to 4:30pm. Range from 1-bedroom to multi-bedroom configurations.
Two-Bedroom Suite
Two private bedrooms sharing a generous living area — the ideal configuration for families or friends traveling together who want their own space without going full villa. Same Tuscan heritage aesthetic as the Borgo Suites, with exposed beams and antique furnishings throughout.
Villa Casa del Fiume
A transformed farmhouse set in undulating valleys with direct views towards Montalcino. Features a 17th-century wood-fired oven and sophisticated Tuscan interiors. Comes with 4x4 countryside access and the full villa package including daily half-board and Land Rover.
Villa Castello Belvedere
A three-story, three-bedroom retreat built on the ruins of a medieval castle right next to the borgo. Rich textiles, rustic accents, fireplaces, and cosy interiors throughout. Ground floor has a living room with fireplace, dining room, kitchen and powder room. First floor has two bedrooms (one king, one twin) with ensuite bathrooms. The entire top floor is a single primary bedroom suite with king bed, walk-in wardrobe, and ensuite. Pergola-shaded outdoor dining and an outdoor wood-fired oven.
