Termal Brihuega
Historic industrial-meets-contemporary wellness retreat. Earthy, warm, and genuinely sustainable — not just as a marketing claim. Slow-travel energy with a serious spa.
Ask for a top-floor Loft Superior or Junior Suite — the vaulted wooden beams up there are the best in the house
Why It Matters
The building itself is the story: a fully restored 18th-century circular Royal Cloth Factory with two concentric rings, a glass-domed restaurant at its heart, and underground thermal springs feeding a nearly 2,000 sqm spa. It's one of only two 5-star Castilla Termal properties offering multi-day treatment programmes.
A 5-star hotel built inside a circular 18th-century Royal Cloth Factory — the same round, salmon-colored building that once processed textiles for the Madrid court. Two concentric rings wrap around a central courtyard, and the original stonework, wooden beams, and inscriptions are all still there, now sharing space with contemporary furniture and herringbone floors. It sits in Brihuega, the lavender capital of Spain's La Alcarria region, about an hour from Madrid.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel's 18th-century Royal Cloth Factory heritage is explored with a guided tour by the on-site concierge, who explains the building's industrial past and architectural features.
A guided visit to the surrounding lavender fields with a curated picnic — reportedly one of the more popular guest experiences during the summer season.
On-site gym available to all hotel guests.
The indoor Roman-style thermal pool with underground mineral-medicinal spring water, in-pool hot tubs, jet areas, water walls, and in-water jet beds. The main draw for most guests.
Staff arrange outdoor activities in Barranco del Río Dulce and Las Tetas de Viana natural parks — both reachable from the hotel. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, sport climbing, and kayaking.
At peak lavender season in July, the hotel can arrange sunrise balloon rides over the blooming fields around Brihuega. One of the more memorable things you can do in this region.
For those who want more than a balloon, the hotel can arrange paramotor flights over the lavender fields and La Alcarria countryside.
Garden-set seasonal pool with views over the terracotta rooftops of Brihuega and the surrounding countryside. A lifeguard is present in summer. Exclusive to hotel guests and complimentary.
