A 17th-and-18th-century convent forms the bones of Catalonia Donosti, but don't expect any dusty historical reverence. The preserved north façade — bell tower, two flanking towers, restored masonry — gives way to a strikingly modern entrance, and the interiors lean full British country house: leather headboards, tartan blankets, velvet and dark wood, marble and copper accents. It sits on San Bartolomé hill right in the city center, which means panoramic views of La Concha beach and the Cantabrian Sea from the rooftop pool, but also a slight uphill trudge from the streets below. The Basque kitchen at Aldapeta Gastrobar and a 350m² wellness center round out the picture.
