Why It Matters
ARDEN restaurant holds a Michelin star and a Gault&Millau Young Chef of the Year for Wallonia 2024 award. The hotel also holds a Michelin Key (2025) and is a Relais & Châteaux member. The 13,000-bottle wine cellar and terroir-driven menus sourced from the estate's greenhouse and kitchen garden set this firmly apart from a typical Belgian country hotel.
A 17th-century red-brick manor and farmhouse on the banks of the Lesse river, Château de Vignée sits in the Belgian Ardennes just outside Rochefort. The turrets and stone facade say old-world castle; step inside and it's a different story entirely — polished floors, velvet accents, neutral palettes, and contemporary art throughout. The real draw, beyond the rooms and spa, is ARDEN: a Michelin-starred restaurant led by chef Marius Bosmans, who grows much of his produce in the château's own greenhouse.

Junior Suite
Only 5 Junior Suites exist on the estate — all in the main château building. The décor leans into the bolder, more expressive side: rich Ardennes-inspired pigments, floral patterns, classical elegance. Super king bed, a separate dressing room, and a spacious bathroom with double washbasin. One of the few rooms that includes a dedicated weapons safe (a nod to the hunting heritage of the estate).

The top-floor crown of the château estate. Set in the eaves with exposed oak beams, skylights and countryside views. Two separate bedrooms sit either side of a lounge with fireplace and dining area that seats four. One bathroom has twin sinks, a soaking tub and over-bath shower; the other has a walk-in shower. There's also a private workspace overlooking the courtyard. The only room on the estate that can comfortably sleep four adults.
