A 400-year-old château wedged into the cliff walls of the medieval village of Eze, 400 metres above the Mediterranean — this is one of the French Riviera's most dramatically sited hotels. Just 14 rooms and suites occupy what was once the winter residence of Swedish Prince Wilhelm, and a Michelin-starred restaurant clings to the same precipice with floor-to-ceiling windows over the sea. It officially became a hotel in 1987 and has been quietly collecting accolades ever since.
