Yucatan
Wellness-forward jungle retreat rooted in Mayan culture. Equal parts hedonistic and contemplative — there's a temazcal on property, a world-class restaurant, and a golf course where you're encouraged to play barefoot. The architecture won the Prix Versailles award: contemporary design that melts into colonial hacienda bones.
Book a table at Ixi'im's private elevated terrace — it has its own fire pit and panoramic jungle views and is the most sought-after seat in the house
Why It Matters
Ranked #8 in the World's 50 Best Hotels 2025 and Best Hotel in North America two years running. The spa is the first in the world built around a cenote. Two Michelin Keys (2025). Flagship restaurant Ixi'im is led by Chef Luis Ronzón under Corporate Chef Jorge Vallejo — whose Mexico City restaurant Quintonil is currently ranked #3 on the World's 50 Best Restaurants.
A 750-acre former 19th-century henequen hacienda turned wellness-first luxury resort, about 25 minutes outside of Mérida. Opened in 2016 and consistently ranked among the world's best hotels — it landed #8 on the World's 50 Best Hotels list in 2025. The cenote spa alone is worth the trip: it's the first spa ever built around a sacred Mayan underground pool, with treatment cabins floating at the water's edge. Every casita and villa comes with a private plunge pool.

On Property
How you'll actually spend your days.
Hands-on workshop exploring the craft of working with Melipona honey and beeswax to make useful products.
Each casita and villa comes with bicycles to explore the 750-acre property's trails, gardens, and pathways at your own pace. Guided rides available.
Access to the property's natural cenote for swimming or diving experiences. Sacred to the Mayans, the water is cool, clear, and genuinely unlike anything else.
Designed by Mexican architect José Lombana, the structure draws from the Mayan plumed-serpent deity K'uk'ulkaan via interconnected cylinders on a sloped terrain. Workshops cover pottery, astronomy, food, drama, and Mayan history.
An on-property farm experience where guests can sample melipona honey, craft with natural materials, learn about orchids, feed farm animals, and walk through gardens. Particularly good for families.
Held in a traditional palapa called Casita Maya, local cooks teach guests to make traditional Yucatecan dishes using ingredients from the resort's orchards and gardens. You won't find the exact recipes anywhere else.
Guided meditation on the property's lawns, which light up with fireflies after dark. Also offered in the wellness programming schedule.
Multi-day structured retreats focusing on contentment, balance, peace, and energy — personalized programs involving spa treatments, yoga, meditation, Mayan healing, and nutrition.
Group and private yoga classes held at the edge of the sacred cenote. All levels welcome. The setting is unlike any yoga studio you've been to.
Visit the resort's colony of Melipona bees — an endangered stingless species sacred to the Mayans and endemic to the Yucatán Peninsula. A shaman conducts a ceremony before each honey harvest. The honey is considered medicinal. Seasonal.
Private training sessions in the state-of-the-art fitness center with Technogym equipment, Kinesis stations, full cardio suite, and weights — with views of the cenote and Mayan forest.
Two tennis courts and padel courts available on property.
An on-property golf course designed by lauded architect Augustín Pizá. The rules here are deliberately relaxed — no dress code, play barefoot if you like, lie in the grass between holes and stare at the sky. Lessons available for beginners and seasoned players alike. The emphasis is on presence and connection to the outdoors, not your handicap.
Pilates sessions conducted in the water — a gentler, more centering approach to core work.
