Why It Matters
Opened September 2024 as citizenM's largest property globally. It's also Boston's first all-electric hotel and holds a BREEAM green building certification. The entrance facade features an original commission from Boston queer artist Maria Molteni. And the rooftop — Bubble Bath, run by celebrity chef Tiffani Faison — has quickly become one of the most talked-about bars in the city.
citizenM's largest hotel worldwide — a 15-story, 399-room tower in the mixed-use Lyrik development right on Newbury Street. It's the brand's second Boston outpost (the first opened at North Station in 2019), and it lands in Back Bay like it was made for the neighborhood. The Hynes Convention Center T stop is directly across the street, Fenway Park is 13 minutes on foot, and the Charles River brownstone views from your bed are genuinely great.

The one and only room type at citizenM — compact, cleverly designed, and all exactly the same. Wall-to-wall window faces the city, bed takes up most of the room (intentionally), and an in-room iPad controls everything: blinds, mood lighting, climate, and the 4K TV. Mini-fridge and hair dryer included. Power rain shower. No coffee maker or iron in-room — those live in the shared canteenM and 'Iron Heaven' floor rooms respectively.
