Le Montrachet
Refined French countryside meets contemporary boutique hotel. Toile de Jouy wallcoverings, velvet, tassels, and custom furnishings that feel handpicked rather than chain-issue. The village square setting keeps things grounded — this is still a sleepy hamlet of 376 residents, not a resort compound.
Book the Montrachet Suite (74 sqm) in Villa Christine if you want the most space and privacy; it has both a separate shower and bathtub.
Why It Matters
COMO's first property in France, occupying four 19th-century village buildings in one of the world's most celebrated wine appellations. The restaurant holds its own Michelin listing, the cellar runs to over 17,000 bottles (95% Burgundy), and Head Sommelier André Berthier has been here for 20+ years. Paola Navone's redesign is widely praised as a near-perfect translation of local character into contemporary luxury.
COMO Le Montrachet sits directly on the village square of Puligny-Montrachet — as close as you can get to the legendary Montrachet Grand Cru without actually owning vines. COMO took over this 19th-century 'place du village' inn in 2022 and reopened it in April 2023 after a full redesign by Italian designer Paola Navone, who gave the three interconnected heritage buildings a contemporary Burgundian palette of sage green, petrol blue, and grey. It earned a One Michelin Key in both 2024 and 2025, validating what wine lovers already suspected: this is the right hotel for this particular patch of France.
