Why It Matters

The Paola Navone-designed interiors are among the most architecturally distinctive of any Thai resort. COMO Point Yamu sits at the very tip of Cape Yamu on Phuket's quieter east coast, staring out at the limestone karsts of Phang Nga Bay. This is not a beach resort in the traditional sense — the waterfront is rocky — but the trade-off is 360-degree views, a 100-metre infinity pool, and a genuine sense of being away from it all. Italian designer Paola Navone did the interiors, and it shows: cool whites, aquamarine tiles, Peranakan-patterned floors and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the bay like a painting.
