Crillon le Brave
Refined Provençal village hotel. Intimate, deeply rooted in place, not showy. The kind of property where the setting does the heavy lifting and the design lets it.

Why It Matters
One of the most distinctive properties in Provence — the hotel literally is the village. Nine former family houses linked by bridges and alleys, each room genuinely different from the last, with panoramic views of Mont Ventoux from almost everywhere. Part of the family-owned Maisons Pariente collection alongside Lou Pinet in Saint-Tropez and Le Coucou in Méribel.
Crillon le Brave is the village — and the hotel. A cluster of 17th and 18th-century stone houses wrapped around a hilltop church in the Vaucluse, the property occupies nearly every building in the tiny hamlet, connected by cobblestone alleys, secret passages, and terraced gardens. Interior designer Charles Zana reworked everything in 2017 — Provençal terracotta floors and oak beams now live alongside soft linens and muted contemporary tones. The hotel just completed a major renovation in April 2026, adding nine new rooms, a second pool, an expanded spa, and a dedicated space for culinary workshops.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Hands-on cooking classes led over two hours around a three-course menu. A dedicated space for workshops was added in the 2026 renovation.
Complimentary bicycles are available for guests. The mythical ascent of Mont Ventoux (25km, summit at 1,909m) starts virtually from the hotel doorstep. Electric bikes also available for those who want a more relaxed ride.
The hotel is within walking or short driving distance of numerous hiking trails through the Vaucluse, Luberon, and Alpilles. The concierge can help plan routes.
Paddle and tennis courts a few minutes from the hotel — ideal for a friendly game before dinner.
A proper pétanque pitch on the hotel grounds. Very much in the spirit of the place.
Chef Thomas Lesage prepares a picnic for guests to enjoy in the vineyards or olive groves at the foot of Mont Ventoux. Part of the romantic break package but can be arranged independently.
Autumn seasonal offer. Includes a cavage (truffle foraging) followed by lunch, a truffle masterclass with Chef Lesage, an aperitif, and a four-course gourmet truffle dinner — plus accommodation and breakfast.
The concierge can point you toward the best local markets, antique shops, and art galleries in the surrounding villages — Gordes, Isle sur la Sorgue, and Vaison-la-Romaine among them.
The sommelier can organize bespoke wine tasting tours to suit your palate — Châteauneuf-du-Pape is 30 minutes away, and local Ventoux AOC vineyards are even closer. A wine and gastronomy package is available that includes a 3-course dinner with wine pairing and a visit to Château Pesquier.
