Why It Matters
Three Michelin Keys (2024, 2025), LEED Gold certified, Kit Kemp's only NYC design outside of Firmdale's other two Manhattan properties. First non-UK Firmdale hotel. The in-lobby Jaume Plensa skull sculpture alone is worth a look.
Firmdale's first foray outside London landed on one of SoHo's quieter cobblestone blocks, and it works beautifully. The hotel's 86 rooms span 11 floors behind metal-framed warehouse windows, each individually designed by Kit Kemp with her signature riot of color, bold prints, and commissioned art. There is no minimalism here — and that's entirely the point. It earned Three Michelin Keys in both 2024 and 2025, and holds LEED Gold certification, an unusual combination for a hotel this design-forward.

The hotel's showcase suites on the 9th, 10th, and 11th floors. Each individually designed by Kit Kemp with a mix of modern and antique furniture and original art. Enormous living room with high ceilings and full-length warehouse windows, a spacious master bedroom, and a bathroom in granite and oak with two basins, cast-iron tub, and shower. Can connect to a Deluxe Room to form a two-bedroom, two-bathroom configuration.
