The complimentary Merende snack corner in Il Salotto living room (first floor) stocks cookies, coffee, juice, and water all day — good to know before you buy anything from the bar

Why It Matters

One of the first hotels in the Dolomites to earn ClimaHotel certification (2024). The SOLS electromagnetic wellness technology under every bed is genuinely unusual — not a marketing gimmick but a measurable system developed with Swiss university research. Part of the Egnazia Ospitalità Italiana group, sharing DNA with the celebrated Borgo Egnazia in Puglia.

Hotel de LEN opened in 2022 out of a full gut-renovation of the historic Hotel Impero, right on Cortina's main drag. The whole thing is built around wood — reclaimed stone pine and fir sourced locally and worked by Ampezzo artisans, etched with the traditional 'fer da segnà' family marks that now form the hotel's logo. But it goes deeper than aesthetics: Swiss-developed Magma13 panels under every bed actively reduce electromagnetic pollution, and a whole-room air filtration system means you genuinely sleep better here. The rooftop spa, the all-day restaurant, and a speakeasy-style bar downstairs round out what is, by Cortina standards, a refreshingly considered place to stay.
