Why It Matters
The birthplace of Soho House's global art collection — curated by Jonathan Yeo and Francesca Gavin in 2009 — with works by Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Gavin Turk and Peter Blake still on the walls. Rumoured first-date location for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Former home to Nell Gwyn (mistress of Charles II), artist William Hogarth, and the legendary Gargoyle Club.
Two Grade II-listed Georgian townhouses knocked into one 39-room hotel on the street that defines Soho. Opened in 2009 by the Soho House group, it has the DNA of the members' club four doors down but opens its doors to anyone willing to pay (or pick up a Soho Friends membership). The foyer hits you first: floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, velvet armchairs, an actual fireplace. And downstairs the all-day British brasserie buzzes from 7am until late, drawing as many locals and media types as hotel guests.

The top of the range. Pencil-post king bed, antique cabinetry, a seating area, and a freestanding bathtub in the bedroom. Bose iPod dock alongside the standard Apple TV. Painted wood panelling and soothing hues throughout. As close to a suite as the Townhouse gets.

Named by founder Nick Jones for its compact size and unconventional layout. A split-level room with a spiral staircase leading up to the bedroom and a walk-in shower on the lower level. Georgian-inspired floral wallpaper. Not for the faint-hearted or the late-night tipsy.
Queen · 15 sqmCosy
Internally facing rooms with neutral interiors and shutter blinds — quieter than the street-facing ones. Metro-tiled bathroom with walk-in shower and checkerboard floor. A step up from Tiny in breathing room and light.

Tucked away at the back of the building. Slightly more spacious than the Cosy rooms, with neutral interiors and soft tones. The extra 3 sq m makes a noticeable difference.

Spacious and bright with large arched windows. Georgian-style hand-printed wallpapers, painted wood panelling, a vintage sofa and armchairs, and an antique king bed. Some rooms have a freestanding pedestal bathtub in the bedroom — request one when booking.

Despite the name, these feel genuinely comfortable. Painted wood panelling, hand-printed wallpapers, a small sitting area with armchair, and a pencil-post king bed. Retro touches throughout. A decent base for a longer Soho stay.

Compact in size but full of character. Hand-painted wallpaper in honey and sand hues, antique clock, old-school radio. The name is not a joke — there's no room for a suitcase open on the floor, but you won't be in here much anyway.

Traditional afternoon tea served Monday to Saturday, 2pm–5pm. Sandwiches, mini cakes and scones. Optional Thienot Champagne upgrade in place of tea. Open to hotel guests and non-guests. Pre-booking required.
The Snug private dining room is available for small events — dinners and celebrations — for up to 14 guests. Open to both members and non-members.
Soho House's global art collection was born here in 2009 when Jonathan Yeo and arts writer Francesca Gavin curated works from a line-up of London talent including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Gavin Turk, Keith Tyson, Polly Morgan, and Peter Blake. Much of the original work remains on display throughout the restaurant, bar, and common spaces. A downloadable art map is available on the Soho House website.
