Why It Matters
One of the few ski-in/ski-out wellness resorts in the Hochkönig region with three distinct spa areas — including the rooftop adults-only TIARA SPA with infinity pool. The RAR fine dining restaurant has 3 toques and 15 points from Gault&Millau, and the kitchen runs ingredients straight from the family's own organic farm. Not many mountain resorts pull off both serious food and serious wellness this convincingly.
Family-run by the Hörl family of Maria Alm, the HOCHKÖNIGIN is a 4-star superior mountain resort with genuine roots in the region — they also operate the nearby Ebengut organic farm, which supplies much of the kitchen. The vibe is alpine design meets real warmth: oiled oak floors, warm tones, and three separate spa zones. Fine dining earns Gault&Millau recognition; the slopes are literally outside the door.
