DOM Hotel Roma
Dark, romantic, design-conscious. Rich hues, cashmere, silk, velvet, leather. A sophisticated grown-up getaway that feels more like a private residence than a hotel — intimate to the point that you'll know the staff by name by day two.

Why It Matters
One of only 18 rooms in a genuine 17th-century palazzo on Via Giulia, one of Rome's most exclusive streets. Actual Andy Warhol artworks in the dining room. The flagship D.O.M. Suite spans two floors with a private 25 sqm terrace and direct views of St. Peter's cupola. Rooms decorated with original photography by Slim Aarons, Kourtney Roy, and Horst P. Horst.
D.O.M. stands for 'Deo Optimo Maximo' — a Latin inscription from the church next door. This 18-room, five-star boutique hotel occupies a 17th-century palazzo on one of Rome's most aristocratic streets, Via Giulia, later turned Claretian monastery. Architect Antonio Girardi kept the Renaissance bones (coffered ceilings, exposed brick) and layered in a moody, design-forward aesthetic: think dark charcoal and chocolate palette, velvet, original Andy Warhol silkscreens, and dimmed ornate chandeliers. There is no spa, no gym — but there is a rooftop terrace with bell-tower views and a serious restaurant.
