Why It Matters

The Vol 128 restaurant is immersive bistronomic dining with a rotating themed menu and 150m² of projection screens. Open year-round with a heated indoor pool.
Fourteen individually themed lodges scattered across a 6-hectare estate of forest, ponds, and century-old trees — just minutes from the center of Metz. The architecture is deliberately modern, all glass, angular silhouettes, and bold color accents. Set on the grounds of the former general's residence of Air Force Base 128 (hence the restaurant name Vol 128), this is not a country house hotel that plays it safe.

Waterside Double Lodge
From EUR100 / night25m² lodge arranged around one of the estate's three lakes. Each one is themed — Bali, Kyoto, Santorini, Copenhagen, or Zanzibar — with individual décor. The terrace sits on stilts directly over the water. Walk-in shower and separate toilet. No facing walls means unobstructed pond views. One of these has been adapted for reduced mobility guests.

Wikkelhouse Lodge
From EUR100 / night25m² barrel-shaped eco-lodge with a rounded Scandinavian profile — the first Wikkelhouses installed anywhere in France, sourced directly from Amsterdam. Set slightly back from the ponds at the forest edge rather than over the water. The interior is bohemian-chic: natural materials, curved walls, hydromassage shower. Private furnished terrace of 10m². Feels like sleeping in a very stylish wooden cocoon.

Every few weeks the restaurant changes its thematic atmosphere — Cuban, exotic, festive, etc. Giant projection screens (150m² across 3 walls) transform the dining room to match. A special menu is devised for each theme.
