Why It Matters
One of the most atmospheric bases for exploring the Normandy D-Day beaches. The farm's history is deeply personal — American soldiers camped under its apple trees on the night of June 6–7, 1944. Add a restaurant serving beef from its own organic Limousin herd, WWII jeep tours departing from the property, and horse stabling, and this is a property with real substance behind the pretty farm aesthetic.
A 17th and 19th century Norman farm estate converted into a 19-room 4-star hotel. The Onfroy family has farmed this land since 1891, and now in its fifth generation, Nicolas and Elsa run the whole operation — organic cattle, cottages, restaurant, and spa — with genuine pride. It sits inside the Parc Naturel des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin, 3km from Utah Beach, so if you're here for D-Day history, the geography does real work for you.

Accessible Double Room
One dedicated double room adapted for guests with reduced mobility. Same standard of Norman-style decoration and modern amenities as other double rooms.
Double Room
Standard double rooms in the 17th–19th century Norman farmhouse. Decorated with period Norman furniture, original art, and unique objects. All have private bathrooms with both bath and shower, free toiletries, hairdryer, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, and tea/coffee equipment. Garden views.
Duplex Suite
Five duplex (split-level) suites sleeping up to four people, making them well-suited for families or larger groups. Located in the 17th-century farm buildings. The mezzanine configuration means the third and fourth beds are on an upper level — note this area can get warm in summer without air conditioning.

Electric bikes for rent to cover more ground or tackle headwinds across the flat marsh landscape. Bike trailer also available (€40/day).
Standard bicycles and mountain bikes available for rent. The Domaine has prepared routes through the Parc Naturel des Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin and through local villages. Ideal flat terrain for exploring.
The hotel can provide advice and routes for self-guided D-Day touring. Utah Beach (3km), Sainte-Mère-Église (10 min), the Airborne Museum, Normandy Victory Museum, and Cité de la Mer are all within easy range. The hotel can also arrange museum tickets (Normandy Victory Museum €8.90 adult; Airborne Museum €10.50 adult; Cité de la Mer €19.50 adult).
The working Utah Beef organic farm is on the property. Guests can visit the stables to see the sport horses and the barn to see the Limousin cattle. Children particularly enjoy meeting the farm animals and exploring the large green spaces.
Guests can bring their own horses to the Domaine. Box rental available on-site — €30/night for 1–2 nights, dropping to €20/night for stays of 3 nights or more. The property has a long equestrian heritage; Utah Beach itself is one of Normandy's famous trotting training grounds.
The dedicated lounge bar hosts organized game nights with board games curated by Elsa. Open to hotel guests and restaurant diners. The fireplace lounge is also the place to wind down with a Calvados.
A 4-hour van-based D-Day tour of the Utah Beach sector and surrounding areas, also run by Normandy Discovery Tours from the Domaine.
Normandy Discovery Tours runs 2-hour guided tours in authentic WWII jeeps, starting from the Domaine. You cover the American paratrooper landing zones around Sainte-Marie-du-Mont, the Utah Beach sector, and the marshes and bocage country the soldiers fought through. Up to 3 people per jeep; 2 jeeps can run simultaneously for larger groups.
