Eastwind is a 1920s-era hunting lodge turned Scandinavian-style boutique hotel in Windham, NY — co-owned by a German/Lithuanian couple who brought mid-century vintage furniture, Frette linens, and A-frame Lushna cabins to what was once a no-frills backcountry bunkhouse. The result is a high-design summer-camp feel without the pretension: 22 hotel rooms and 10 cabins spread across a hillside with direct views of Windham Mountain. About two hours from NYC, it fills up fast on weekends.

Located in the Bunkhouse building. Reclaimed wood paneling, muted palette with navy, black, and white accents — very much the Scandinavian backcountry aesthetic. Compact but well-executed.

The flagship suite, situated in the heart of the property. Two seating areas, private fireplace, walk-in shower with rain head, farmhouse basin sink, and Zenology bath products. The most hotel-like luxury option on property.
2 KingsForest King
First-floor Mountain House room with the same Scandinavian-meets-vintage layout as the Mountain King, but oriented toward the pine forest rather than the mountain. Private entrance, window nook, mini fridge, and outdoor lounge chairs.

Lushna Cabin
Pod-like A-frame cabin sourced from Slovenia — Eastwind's take on glamping. Simple, compact, and immersive. Large windows frame the surrounding nature. The bathroom is private but detached, a few steps from the cabin. All-season insulation means it works in both winter and summer.
1 QueenLushna Suite
Freestanding cabin with a loft queen bed, lounge space with pull-out sofa, writer's nook, and a fridge. Triple doors open onto a private deck and fire pit. En-suite bathroom included — no detached bathroom trek unlike the standard Lushna.

Mountain King

Bikes available to borrow (weather permitting, first-come first-served) to explore the Windham Path and surrounding area.
The property is marketed for corporate and wellness retreats and creative group gatherings. Eastwind has hosted teacher retreats and other group events on-site.
Public and cabin-specific fire pits for evening gathering. The hotel provides s'mores kits for all guests.
Guests can borrow Hunter rain boots during their stay — handy for muddy trails or Catskills rain.
Hammocks in the meadow for lazy afternoons. Best in summer and mild months.

Windham Mountain Resort is approximately 1.9 miles (3-minute drive) from the hotel. Discounted lift tickets reportedly available at the front desk.
