Eclectic country elegance — mediaeval bones, designer fabrics, and a foodie obsession that runs through everything

Why It Matters
A genuine working farm where livestock and land directly supply the award-winning restaurant and cookery school, making the food story unusually authentic. Mark Stinchcombe's return as head chef after his 2015 MasterChef: The Professionals win brought fresh energy to the kitchen.
Eckington Manor is a 16-room working farm and country house on the edge of the Cotswolds in Worcestershire, sitting on 260 acres of river meadow and pasture. The rooms are split across four converted agricultural buildings — Lower End House, The Cyder Mill, The Grain Barn and The Milking Parlour — all renovated to keep original beams, flagstones and forged-iron fittings but styled with antique furniture, hand-painted silk wallpaper and designer fabrics. The restaurant is the headline act here: farm-to-table cooking led by MasterChef: The Professionals 2015 winner Mark Stinchcombe and his wife Sue, with most of the meat, produce and eggs coming directly from the farm. And if that still isn't enough food for you, the on-site cookery school — one of the best-equipped in the UK — runs courses on everything from Indian street food to AGA mastery.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Modern calligraphy and brush lettering workshop run at the manor. A non-foodie activity in the programme for those who want to balance the eating with something creative.
Meeting rooms available with state-of-the-art AV facilities. Day delegate and 24-hour delegate rates on request. Bespoke team building activities and country pursuits packages can be added. The Grain Barn and Apple Store can cater for up to 70 guests for events.
One of the most serious cookery schools attached to any UK hotel. It has the largest number of AGAs of any cookery school in the country and offers courses ranging from half-day introductions (Indian street food, gastro pub classics) to full-day masterclasses (fish and shellfish, restaurant dishes at home, AGA cookery, Thai, Italian, Moroccan). Courses are led by professional tutors, ingredients are all traceable from the farm or local suppliers, and students eat what they cook at lunch and take home a recipe pack.
Explore 260 acres of working river meadow and pasture farmland. You may encounter the prize-winning Aberdeen Angus and Highland cattle, Gloucester Old Spot pigs and sheep that supply the restaurant. Bredon Hill is a short drive for more structured walking, and the Malvern Hills are accessible from the property.
Guided foraging experience in the surrounding Worcestershire countryside, identifying wild herbs, plants and seasonal ingredients. Led by expert foragers with a focus on what's actually edible and how to use it in cooking.
Nearby horse riding and clay pigeon shooting can be arranged by the hotel on request. Not on-site but organised as part of the manor's country pursuits offering.
