Why It Matters
The only restaurant in the Scottish Highlands with 4 AA Rosettes. Listed in the Michelin Guide (2019–present), La Liste Top 500 Worldwide (2025), and rated 'Exceptional' in the Good Food Guide. Calum Montgomery appeared on BBC Great British Menu in 2022 and 2024. Reputedly the oldest inn on Skye, dating to 1543.
Edinbane Lodge is a 16th-century hunting lodge turned world-class restaurant with six luxury rooms on the Isle of Skye. Chef Patron Calum Montgomery — a Skye native and Scottish Chef of the Year 2025 — runs a hyper-local tasting menu where most suppliers are literally his relatives and childhood friends. The food is why you come; the rooms are why you stay the night instead of driving Skye's single-track roads home in the dark.

Room Four – King Junior Suite
Situated in the oldest wing of the house. The main bedroom has a king-size bed; the adjoining room can be configured as a sitting room or fitted with a rollaway child's bed. Walk-in monsoon power shower plus freestanding cast iron bathtub in the ensuite. Dark woods, tweeds and tartans. 42" Smart UHD TV. Breakfast included.
KingRoom One – Super King
Renovated and refreshed for the 2024 season. Garden view, split-level ensuite bathroom with a cast iron freestanding bathtub and walk-in monsoon power shower. Dark woods, earthy tweeds and tartans, soft blue velvet seating. Original artworks by local artist Katie Tunn and handcrafted Edinbane pottery throughout. Nespresso machine, teas, and homemade biscuits included. Breakfast included.
Super KingRoom Six – Riverside Super King
New for 2024 and widely regarded as one of the best rooms. Private garden/patio access on the river, super king bed, bathroom TV, and full ensuite with freestanding bath and walk-in monsoon shower. 50" 4K Smart TV. Nespresso machine and homemade shortbread. Breakfast included. Dogs allowed.

The largest room in the lodge. A super-comfortable super king sleigh bed, blue velvet sofa, soft leather and tweed chairs, and tartan carpet. 50" UHD Smart TV and garden views. Bright ensuite with granite grey tile, freestanding bath, and walk-in monsoon shower. Breakfast included.

Edinbane sits at the ideal midpoint for day trips to all three northern peninsulas of Skye. Dunvegan Castle is 15 minutes away; Neist Point and the Quiraing are within easy driving distance. The lodge itself has no organised excursions — you self-guide.
The lodge sits on a shaded riverbank surrounded by 3 acres of mature woodland. Walking along the river directly from the grounds — particularly pleasant from the riverside rooms' private patios.
Pre-dinner drinks in the lounge/bar featuring local Skye botanicals, island gins, and Scottish whiskies. A natural preamble to the tasting menu.
