Why It Matters
Opened in 2019 as the founding property of the Mallorca Ç Collection. Holds a Michelin Key for the hotel itself and a Michelin Star (plus two Repsol Suns) for DINS Santi Taura, where Chef Santi Taura revives lost Mallorcan recipes from local archives. An 11th-century Moorish clay oven was discovered during construction and incorporated into the DINS space. Appeared in Condé Nast Traveler's Top 20 hotels in Spain and Portugal three consecutive years (2020–2022) and won Condé Nast Johansens 'Best New Hotel in Europe' in 2021.
El Llorenç opened in 2019 inside a former carpenter's workshop in La Calatrava, Palma's oldest and most characterful quarter. Swedish designer Magnus Ehrland ran with the neighbourhood's layered history — Moorish geometric star motifs, dark walnut parquet, lattice woodwork — and fused it with sharp contemporary furniture from Roche Bobois and Flos. The result is 33 rooms that feel warm and eclectic rather than minimalist, anchored by a triple-level rooftop with what the hotel claims is the longest infinity pool among Palma's boutique hotels, and a Michelin-starred restaurant that barely seats 20.
