Why It Matters
Michelin Selected property and the first JdV by Hyatt in Taiwan. The EPISODE brand — created by Aaron Chan of Riant Capital — is built around the idea that modern travelers want to fuse work and play rather than keep them separate. The SODE Bar's ceiling of shifting LED panels is genuinely striking. Hyatt World of Hyatt points eligible.
EPISODE Hsinchu opened in November 2022 as the first JdV by Hyatt property in Taiwan and the debut of the Hotel EPISODE brand. It sits right next to the freeway exit closest to Hsinchu Science Park — Taiwan's semiconductor heartland — which tells you a lot about its primary audience. But it doesn't feel like a business slab. The 140 rooms are furnished with pieces from Stellar Works (a Japanese-French design brand), all rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows, and the communal SOCIAL lounge runs complimentary drinks and snacks all day. No pool, and the fitness center is compact, but the design sensibility and daily Happy Hour make it genuinely enjoyable rather than just functional.
