Eye Hotel sits in a genuine 17th-century building that housed Utrecht's ophthalmology hospital from 1858 to 1984 — the name is not a marketing gimmick. Opened as a boutique hotel in June 2015, it has 36 individually designed rooms spread across six types, all with original exposed ceiling beams and a cool, minimalist palette. No pool, no spa, no restaurant on-site, but the location on Wijde Begijnestraat puts you steps from Utrecht's Voorstraat strip, and Amsterdam is just a 20-minute train ride away.

A step up from the Cosy in space and light. All have a work desk, making them solid for business travellers. Some come with a private patio; others have decent city views. Beds are larger here at 180x210cm.

Cosy Room
The smallest rooms in the hotel at just 16 m², but they're the ones with the best atmosphere. Original ceiling beams run overhead, and the rear-facing position keeps things quiet. Good for solo travellers and couples who won't spend much time in the room. Note: limited view, largely of public/internal areas.

Family Room

There is only one Suite in the building, and the hotel knew it from day one of the renovation. High ceilings, large windows, and a standout bathroom with both a bathtub and a double shower. It's the flagship room and books up fast. No published size but clearly the most spacious option.
