Angra dos Reis
Modern Brazilian resort luxury — warm materials, open architecture, serious gastronomy, and a sense of genuine seclusion without roughing it
Fasano Suite 301 is one floor above Suite 201 and has noticeably better views — worth the ask at check-in
Why It Matters
The largest spa in the Fasano portfolio (2,000 sqm), one of Latin America's most impressive 18-hole golf courses, and a setting where guests arrive by sea, helipad, or road into a private bay with 365 surrounding islands. The brand's triple-threat of luxury, glamour, and gastronomy is fully intact here, just with fewer international tourists than the Ipanema sibling.
Fasano Angra dos Reis opened in 2017 inside the private FRAD.E development on Brazil's Costa Verde coast — a gated estate with a marina, helipad, 18-hole golf course, and about 17 million square meters of Atlantic Forest. The hotel itself is a 60-room arc-shaped building where nearly every room catches at least a sliver of ocean. Decor leans hard on warm earth tones and rich Brazilian hardwood; walking into the lobby feels like stepping inside a polished tree. Dinner and breakfast are included in room rates, which takes a lot of the guesswork out of a stay in a fairly remote location.

How you'll actually spend your days.
On-site clay tennis court and beach tennis available on Praia do Frade. Part of the broader sports amenities of the FRAD.E development.
18-hole, par-72 course measuring 6,420 yards. Designed by British architects Dave Thomas and Peter Allis at the base of Pico do Frade, amid Atlantic Forest with streams and waterfalls. Ranked among the most impressive courses in Latin America. Capybaras, armadillos, and deer wander the course. Suitable for beginners and professionals.
Supervised kids' space for ages up to 12. Games, activities, children's pool, and a full team on hand. Open daily 9am–7pm. Children under 4 must have a parent present. Free for kids 5 and older.
Boat tours across approximately 365 islands in the Angra dos Reis bay. Options range from full-day marine explorations to a few-hour trips or dive excursions. Schooner or speedboat. Some packages combine a boat tour with a hike or a city tour of historic Paraty (64km away). The hotel also offers 'AL SOLE' — a nautical experience combining Fasano cuisine with a boat trip in the archipelago.
The hotel owns a private island and offers free transfers for guests. Ideal for a quiet half-day of swimming, sunbathing, or paddleboarding away from the main beach.
Available from the beach at Praia do Frade, which features calm protected bay waters suitable for water sports. Included in some room packages.
Recurring program in the Costa Verde setting where sunset is turned into a proper event — live music, drinks, watching the light change over the bay.
Guided itineraries into the Atlantic Forest surrounding the development, including routes up Pico do Frade (1,500m+, Angra's second-highest peak). Trails for all levels from beginner to advanced, led by specialized guides.
