Why It Matters
One of the few hotels in Asheville that genuinely feels like the city rather than just being located in it. The building's history as a working foundry is tangible throughout, and its location in The Block — a historically Black neighborhood — is treated as a feature, not a footnote. Part of the Hilton Curio Collection, so Honors points apply.
Built inside a cluster of five red-brick factory buildings that once forged the steel for the Biltmore Estate, the Foundry Hotel opened in December 2018 and quickly became the go-to address in Asheville's downtown. It sits in The Block, the city's historically Black neighborhood, and wears that identity proudly — from rotating art installations by local Black artists to the ethos baked into its architecture. Rooms are industrial-chic with genuine bones: original hardwood floors in select rooms, oversized factory windows, exposed brick, and marble bathrooms with waterfall showers.

On-call concierge can arrange local activities including brewery tours, Blue Ridge Parkway hikes, Biltmore Estate visits, spa bookings at off-site venues, and more. The hotel actively promotes Asheville's arts and cultural scene.
Regular live music events on select Friday and Saturday evenings (7–9 PM) and occasional Sunday brunch sets. Artists cycle through jazz, fusion, Americana, folk, and soul genres. No cover charge — just order drinks.
A curated pet experience: one-hour photo shoot with a local photographer against Blue Ridge Mountain backdrops, followed by a guided pet-friendly hike via Asheville Wellness Tours (two trail options by difficulty).
