Puerto Rico
Nature-first Caribbean luxury. The redesign by Meyer Davis introduced an airy, sand-and-sea palette throughout. Lots of open-air living, exposed timber, and the sense that the jungle is always just outside. It's grand but doesn't feel stuffy.

Why It Matters
One of the most ecologically serious luxury resorts in the Caribbean — Audubon International Green Hospitality Platinum certified, with an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course also certified as an Audubon Silver Signature Sanctuary. Ten dining concepts, an expansive spa, a dedicated Nature Centre, and 7+ miles of nature trails on the property itself. El Yunque National Forest is a 9-mile drive away.
This is a 483-acre resort on Puerto Rico's northeastern coast that was formerly The St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort — rebranded as Four Seasons in November 2025 after a comprehensive renovation. It sits on a former coconut plantation, now a certified nature reserve stretching along two miles of golden beach, flanked by two protected sanctuaries. The address says it all: kilometer 4.2, nowhere near anything — and that remoteness is precisely the appeal.

Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed par-72 course stretching 6,890 yards with beach and rainforest views throughout. Certified as an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary. Driving range equipped with a Trackman golf simulator.
A guided night-time kayak up the river through mangroves and into Laguna Grande, one of only five known bioluminescent bays in the world (and one of three in Puerto Rico). Microscopic plankton produce a glowing blue trail as paddles move through the water. A genuinely rare experience.
Guided canoe trek through the nearby Reserva Natural Río Espíritu Santo — mangroves, wildlife, and calm river paddling just off the resort grounds.
The resort boathouse sits on over 70 acres of canals, ponds, and lakes. Paddleboarding, kayaking, and an inflatable water park are all on offer. E-foil, surfing, windsurfing, and wingsurfing also available on the ocean side.
The only tropical rainforest in the US National Forest system is just 9 miles away. The concierge can arrange guided hikes, waterfall treks, and zipline adventures. Over 240 tree species, 50 bird species, and 20 varieties of wild orchid.
Beach rides along the resort's two miles of private crescent beach. Arranged through the concierge.
Hands-on class taught by a resort chef covering the preparation of Puerto Rico's most iconic dish. Guests pound plantains, work with local ingredients, and eat the results. Good for families and solo travelers alike.
A guided hands-on cocktail experience focused on Puerto Rico's official drink.
A guided rum experience celebrating Puerto Rico's most famous spirit, with expert-led tastings and cocktail education.
The resort's Nature Centre organizes activity on the 483-acre property and surrounding reserves. Expert naturalists lead bird-watching walks on more than 7 miles of trails. Complimentary bikes available for self-guided exploration.
An on-site petting zoo and pet shelter for kids. Reviews note it's a golf-cart ride from the main building, which dampens enthusiasm somewhat.
Complimentary, fully supervised program for children ages 4–12 with beach games, arts and crafts, and Puerto Rican culture-inspired activities. Runs daily so parents can actually relax.
Four tennis courts (including clay courts), two padel courts, and two pickleball courts. Both a fitness center and a dedicated racket club with state-of-the-art equipment. Trainer-guided classes and private lessons available.
