Why It Matters

The HERBARIUM Bar's cocktail program was developed by Drinksology, the same agency behind New York's Dead Rabbit (twice named the World's Best Bar) — unusual pedigree for a mid-sized German city. The INTUU restaurant brings full Nikkei cuisine (Japanese-South American fusion) to Göttingen, with a Josper charcoal grill and a Michelin selection nod.
A 118-room boutique design hotel that opened in July 2018, right in the center of Göttingen's university city — 293 steps from the ICE train station. The building, designed by Ahrens & Grabenhorst Architects with an intentionally wild-patterned brick façade, houses interiors by Frank Kassner: Basquiat-inspired art, Moroccan cement tiles, upcycled furniture, and oak floors. It's a serious food-and-drink destination as much as a place to sleep, with Nikkei cuisine at INTUU and herb-harvested cocktails at the HERBARIUM Bar.

Six event rooms ranging from 24m² to 126m², including three lounges, two conference rooms (each 50m²), and a library. Fully air-conditioned with oak wood floors, natural light, soundproof windows, and state-of-the-art AV technology.
Hotel partners with Hardenberg GolfResort for golf packages, available March through November. Options include single and two-night stays with green fees at the Niedersachsen Course and/or the Göttingen Course, combined with dinner at INTUU.
Regular DJ club nights in the HERBARIUM Bar, open to non-guests. DJ Jay-P & Friends with rotating live acts. Cocktails, wine, beer, rum & gin served alongside sushi omakase from INTUU. Tickets are free for entry; table reservations for groups of up to 6 include a Magnum FREIgeist Cuvée for €75.
