Granada Hotel & Bistro
Industrial-chic historic boutique. Think antique furniture reupholstered in bold textiles, exposed steel framing, original brick walls, and commissioned art on every surface. The vibe is downtown-artsy without feeling try-hard.

Why It Matters
One of the best boutique hotels on the Central Coast — a genuinely character-rich 1920s landmark that the owners refused to let be demolished. The flagship property of the Nomada Hotel Group and listed on Tablet Hotels. The Bistro draws locals as much as guests, and Nightcap is a legitimate destination bar.
A 1922 brick building that started life as Hotel Granada — and, if rumor is to be believed, something of a brothel. Rescued from demolition in 2010 and reopened in 2012 after a multi-million dollar renovation, it's now 17 individually designed rooms above an excellent bistro and a speakeasy-style cocktail lounge. Part of the Nomada Hotel Group, it's the kind of small property that gets things right: exposed brick, original hardwood floors, commissioned artwork, and a dining room that locals actually want to eat in.

How you'll actually spend your days.
A one-hour cocktail workshop led by the Nightcap bar team. Each session focuses on one classic cocktail — its history, the techniques that make it great, and Nightcap's elevated take on it. Guests taste components along the way and end with the finished drink in hand. Monthly sessions cover different cocktails (Sidecar, Old Fashioned, Martini, Margarita, Negroni). Space is limited so book well in advance via OpenTable.
The hotel hosts curated events including cocktail classes and wine/food pairing dinners. Described as inviting the curious and creatively inclined to celebrate community and craft. Check the Hotel Happenings page for current schedule.
Complimentary Linus Bikes available to borrow for exploring downtown San Luis Obispo. The flat downtown core is very bikeable, with easy access to the creek path, Mission Plaza, and surrounding neighborhoods.
The famous downtown SLO Farmers' Market closes the block right outside the hotel every Thursday evening. Live music, local produce, street food — one of the best farmers' markets in California, and you can literally walk out the front door.
