Why It Matters
Dinard's first hotel (built 1858) and still its finest. Member of The Leading Hotels of the World. The bar Le 333 was named for a cocktail invented by Kirk Douglas during his 1958 stay while filming 'The Vikings' on location.
Dinard's original hotel, opened in 1858, is the grandest address on the Emerald Coast. The Second Empire façade faces directly onto Saint-Malo Bay, and architect Alexandre Danan's 2019 renovation kept the mosaic floors, dark wood moldings, and period glass-walled elevator intact while reorienting every public space toward the water. The result is 86 rooms and suites dressed in deep Dinard blue and sandy beige, a Shiseido spa, and three restaurants, all perched above the Promenade du Clair de Lune.
