Why It Matters
The only five-star hotel in Bellagio — the most coveted spot on Lake Como. Guests have included Winston Churchill, JFK, Franz Liszt, Sofia Loren, Clark Gable, and Al Pacino. The Bellagio resort in Las Vegas was famously named after this property's setting. In 2024, the Bucher family invested €4 million in renovations, adding the largest spa complex on Lake Como (Luce del Lago, 1,500 sqm) and a new Beach Club. Chef Ettore Bocchia — Italy's father of molecular cuisine — has held a Michelin star at Restaurant Mistral since 2005.
The only 5-star hotel in Bellagio, and arguably the finest address on Lake Como. Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni has been welcoming guests since 1873 — transformed from a Neoclassical palazzo built for a noble family from Bergamo — and has been family-run by the Bucher dynasty for four generations. Frescoed ceilings, Murano chandeliers, marble staircases, and hand-sewn Como silk duvets set the tone. It joined Relais & Châteaux in July 2025, and houses Italy's only Michelin-starred molecular cuisine restaurant.

Classic Lake View Room
Same premium furnishings as the Classic but with a direct lake view. The curtains part to reveal panoramic Como — it's the room upgrade that actually makes sense.
Classic Room
The entry point, but there's nothing basic about it. Handcrafted antique furniture, fine Italian linens, and hand-sewn Como silk bedspreads. Views overlook the hotel gardens or the village of Bellagio. Full private bathroom with bathtub, separate shower, and double sink.

Franz Liszt Imperial Suite
Contains a piano once played by Franz Liszt himself. The most storied suite in the hotel, combining 19th-century grandeur with a genuinely extraordinary piece of musical history sitting in the corner.
Junior Suite
Exceptionally spacious, with a separate lounge area. Exclusive amenities and lake views. These sit in the Goldilocks zone — more room than you need but less opulence-overload than the grand suites.
Kennedy Suite
Named for one of the hotel's most celebrated guests. Adorned with marble columns and magnificent high ceilings. A masterpiece of elegance — you'll feel the weight of history walking through the door.
Open Space Suite
Very spacious suites with an open lounge area, exclusive amenities, and lake views. The open-plan layout makes the most of the generous proportions.
Royal Suite
The most requested suite by returning guests. Two balconies, both facing the best lake view. Refined colors, sophisticated décor, and fine Italian fabrics completing the regal look. This is the one to book for a milestone celebration.
Suite ARTE
Ground-floor suite for art collectors. Biedermeier-inspired furnishings, an Andy Warhol print, a Kandinsky-style rug, and Prada design details. Separate bedroom and living room. Adults only — no pets or children, as it contains valuable artworks and precious rugs.
Suite ORO
Gold-themed ground-floor suite with a fully gilded headboard on the king bed, soft lighting, and luxurious fabrics. Large windows look out to the garden. Open-plan bedroom and living area.
