Grasse Grace Manor is a 9-room boutique hotel in Nanzhuang, a Taiwanese mountain town with an official 'Slow City' certification. The building is grandly Gothic in style — pointed arches, flying buttresses, rose windows, stained glass — inspired by its namesake, the perfume capital of southern France. Inside, rooms trade gothic drama for calm: wood-panelled walls, ornate gilded headboards, and soft blues and pastels that feel more French countryside than castle. The communal spaces do more of the heavy lifting, from a marble foyer with a century-old perfume wall to the vaulted Jasmine restaurant, where Michelin-starred chefs serve long, theatrical French dinners under chandeliers.
