Grau Roig Andorra Boutique Hotel & Spa
Intimate alpine luxury — mountain refuge roots meet contemporary design, with serious gastronomy as a genuine USP. Warm and personal, not flashy.
Ask for a room with a slope-facing balcony — the views over the Circ de Pessons are the real payoff
Why It Matters
The only boutique luxury hotel in Andorra with genuine ski-in/ski-out access. Winner of Best Ski Boutique Hotel in Andorra at the World Ski Awards 2014 and 2015. Four distinct dining venues including the Teatro del Vino, an intimate three-table wine-pairing restaurant with one of the best cellars in Andorra. The hotel functions year-round — as a ski base in winter and a hiking/nature retreat in summer, 20 minutes' walk from the Pessons glacial lakes.
Grau Roig sits at the literal end of the road — 2,100 meters up in the Andorran Pyrenees, 10 meters from the Grandvalira ski lifts, with nowhere left to go but the slopes. It started life as a mountain shelter in the 1970s and has been quietly upgraded into a 42-room boutique hotel that takes food and wine seriously enough to run four distinct dining venues, including a wine-pairing theatre with over 300 labels. The exterior is understated (think brown-brick Bavarian lodge), but inside it's warm oak, stone, and leather throughout — the kind of place that feels like it actually belongs on a mountain rather than being plonked there.
