Why It Matters
One of the few luxury Parisian hotels that genuinely feels like a private residence rather than a grand palace. Built in 1880 as the private Parisian mansion of Henri-Léopold Charles, Marquis de Sers, this five-star boutique hotel spent decades as the rather anonymous Hôtel Queen Elizabeth before finding its true character. Nicknamed the 'Baby Palace,' it sits on Avenue Pierre 1er de Serbie in Paris's Golden Triangle — literally between an Elie Saab boutique and the city's only Bentley dealership. A recent multi-million euro renovation by architect Pascal Allaman and owners Anne and Agathe Jousse preserved the Haussmannian bones while layering in 1930s-inflected contemporary interiors: light herringbone parquet, wenge wood accents, velvet armchairs, and geometric rugs. The result is 52 rooms and suites that feel like borrowing someone else's very beautiful Parisian apartment.
