Why It Matters
One Michelin Key hotel (2025), home to the Artesse fine-dining restaurant helmed by two-Michelin-star chef Juanlu Fernández, with a reconstructed Polish tasting menu drawing on centuries of culinary history. The building itself is a layered artifact: founded in 1544, rebuilt in 1873, renovating revealed previously unknown polychrome frescoes. The Royal Suite has an 18th-century ceiling fresco discovered only during the last restoration — and Lenny Kravitz chose it for his 2024 Krakow stay.
A 5-star former aristocratic palace in the heart of Krakow's Old Town, operating on a site with origins dating to 1544. The Lubomirski family rebuilt it into its current neo-Baroque form in 1873–74; after a stint as the French Institute until 1999, it reopened as a luxury hotel. Original frescoes, Baroque stucco, and polychromed wooden beams coexist with modernist furniture and contemporary Polish art. In 2025, the hotel earned one Michelin Key — and its Artesse restaurant has carried a Michelin Guide recommendation since 2023.

The Royal Suite is the one Lenny Kravitz chose during his 2024 Krakow visit.
