Why It Matters

Home to Grace & Savour, a One Michelin Star restaurant serving a seasonal tasting menu of up to 14 courses from an open kitchen built into the walls of a Victorian walled garden. The estate also runs Kynd, a second restaurant in the old furnace house, plus an artisan bakery named one of Britain's Best Bakeries. Named SquareMeal's UK number one restaurant in 2023. Grace & Savour has held 4 AA rosettes since 2016 and was awarded 3 circles by the 360° Eat sustainability guide — second only to L'Enclume nationally. The estate runs entirely on 100% renewable energy.

A Grade II listed Victorian manor house built in 1855 on a 45-acre estate, once owned by the family of Sir Robert Peel. The Hill family took it on in 2008 when the roof was leaking and the walled garden was overgrown — today it's one of the Midlands' most serious foodie destinations, with a Michelin-starred restaurant, a second restaurant, an artisan bakery, cookery school, and 24 individually designed bedrooms. Owners James and Fjona call it a 'restaurant with rooms', and that's about right.
