Why It Matters
Home to Grace & Savour, a One Michelin Star restaurant serving a seasonal tasting menu of up to 14 courses from an open kitchen built into the walls of a Victorian walled garden. The estate also runs Kynd, a second restaurant in the old furnace house, plus an artisan bakery named one of Britain's Best Bakeries. Named SquareMeal's UK number one restaurant in 2023. Grace & Savour has held 4 AA rosettes since 2016 and was awarded 3 circles by the 360° Eat sustainability guide — second only to L'Enclume nationally. A Grade II listed Victorian manor house built in 1855 on a 45-acre estate, once owned by the family of Sir Robert Peel. The Hill family took it on in 2008 when the roof was leaking and the walled garden was overgrown — today it's one of the Midlands' most serious foodie destinations, with a Michelin-starred restaurant, a second restaurant, an artisan bakery, cookery school, and 24 individually designed bedrooms. Owners James and Fjona call it a 'restaurant with rooms', and that's about right.

Named after the ancient de Arden family. Cosy in size but generous in spirit — a large bed you'll want to sink into, with all the same creature comforts as the bigger rooms. No bath tub in this one.

Named after the de Montford family who once held the manor. A Feature Room with a special view and its own distinctive personality. Includes a lounge area, big bath tub and separate shower.
KingGarden Coach House Rooms
Two snug rooms in the old Coach House next to the Walled Garden Hideaway. French doors open onto a small private garden. Earthy green tones, patterned wallpaper, and the hallmark outdoor bath — yes, the bath is outside. Can be combined with the Hideaway to sleep up to 8 guests.
KingGeorge Fentham — Manor Suite
One of three Manor Suites, named after the village's greatest historical benefactor. Spacious lounge, bay windows to the gardens, and the same generous Arts & Crafts-inspired detail found throughout the Manor House.
KingHenrietta Maria — Manor Feature Room
A Manor Feature Room with its own memorable feature — a bathroom set inside a tower. Big bath tub and separate shower. Named after the wife of King Charles I, who was once granted the manor estate.
KingLillingston — Manor Feature Room
Named after Isaac William Lillingston, who sold the manor to Sir Robert Peel. A Feature Room in the heart of the Manor House with a big bath tub and separate shower, distinctive design and character.

Named after Roger Mowbray, one of the medieval lords of the manor. A Feature Room with its own character in the heart of the Victorian house.

Named after a historic queen associated with the estate's lineage. A feature room in the Manor House with big bath tub and separate shower.
KingRobert Peel — Manor Suite
Named after the estate's most famous former owner, this suite is swirled with leafy William Morris prints. Spacious, with a lounge area and large bay windows overlooking the gardens. Some have four-poster beds. The bathroom features an original fireplace alongside a freestanding bath tub and walk-in rainfall shower.

Sarah Ireland — Manor Master Suite
The largest suite in the Manor House, named after a former owner of the estate. Huge bed, separate lounge, and large bay windows looking out onto the gardens. All the little extras that make a house a home: fresh coffee beans and a hand grinder, baked cookies on arrival, bluetooth speakers, and natural botanical toiletries from 100 Acres.
KingThe Coppicer — Walled Garden Suite
Named after the traditional woodland management craft of coppicing. A Walled Garden Suite with courtyard garden views and the signature concrete bath experience.

The second of the two Walled Garden Master Suites, named after the French term for a cabinet-maker. Private garden terrace, views to the kitchen, hand-cast concrete bath. The most immersive and sensory rooms on the estate.

Named after the craft of roof shingling. A Walled Garden Suite completing the five craft-themed rooms adjoined to Grace & Savour. Same concrete bath, garden views and sustainably sourced materials as its siblings.

Named after the craft of weaving, with bespoke woven pieces commissioned for the room. A Walled Garden Suite without private terrace but with garden views, hand-cast concrete bath and courtyard garden outlook.
KingThe Whittler — Walled Garden Master Suite
One of the two largest suites at Grace & Savour, with private garden terrace and views into the Michelin-starred kitchen. Named after the art of whittling wood — a local craftsman created bespoke commissioned pieces for the room. In-room bath hand cast in concrete, recycled wools, reclaimed woods, NaturalMat organic bed, fair trade linens and Harvest organic skincare toiletries.
KingWalled Garden Hideaway — Cottage
The most private option on the estate — a two-bedroom cottage overlooking the walled garden. Has a lounge with fireplace and board games, sun room, kitchen, breakfast room, and a freestanding bath tub with walk-in rainfall shower. Exposed brick walls and handcrafted oak furniture. Dog friendly (ground floor only). Combine with the two Garden Coach House rooms next door to sleep up to 8.
KingXO — Manor Snug
The smallest room in the house. 'Dinky but has a big personality' is how the hotel describes it — small but cosy with teal tones and bright accent furnishings. A super king bed and a shower (no bath). Good for solo or couple travellers not planning to spend much time in the room.

Manor House guests have access to a games room and the Library Bar's social spaces, including billiards.
Hands-on seasonal workshops in a cookery school with views over the walled garden. Classes cover restaurant techniques, baking (the cinnamon bun workshops sell out every month), and craftsmanship themes tied to the estate's restoration. Run by the estate team including head baker Adam Cross and Head of Sustainability Min Go.
Request a fire pit at check-in and the team will set one up for the evening. Bring your own tipple, share stories, watch the logs crackle. One of those touches that makes the place feel like a private house rather than a hotel.
A backstage tour of the estate every morning after checkout. Different every day — you might chat with the Michelin-starred chef, the head baker Adam Cross, the organic gardener, or the sommelier. Full access to all areas and a genuine look at how the estate runs.
Every afternoon between 3–4pm, a curated vinyl session from the estate's growing record collection, accompanied by the cake of the day fresh from the bakery. It's the official welcome home moment — the signal to slow down.
Daily informal wine tastings across three wines. Over a glass, get under the skin of the natural, low-intervention wine philosophy guiding the estate's cellar — built since 2015 in partnership with Wine Freedom, winners of AA Wine List of the Year 2019.
Guided tours of the Victorian walled garden where the estate grows produce for both restaurants using organic and biodynamic methods — no chemicals or pesticides. Walled Garden Suite guests get a chef-led garden tour and menu introduction on arrival.
