Hanusel Hof is a 4-star Superior Golf & Spa hotel run by the Rainalter family — seven of them — on the site of an Allgäu farmstead dating back to 1742. Parked on a sunny Alpine plateau at almost 1,000m, it comes with Germany's highest-elevation hotel-owned 18-hole golf course right at the door. The restaurant is Michelin-listed, the wine cellar holds over 350 labels, and most of the game and fish on your plate was caught by the family itself.

In winter, the 55-hectare golf course transforms into the hotel's own 2.8km cross-country and skating trail running across the Hellengerst plateau with views of the Allgäu peaks and the Swiss Säntis. Equipment (skis, poles, sleds) available free to borrow. Guided outings available on request.
Snowshoes and poles available at no charge from the hotel. Guests can explore the untracked snow on and around the plateau.
E-bikes available to rent for exploring the Allgäu lake district and Weitnauer Valley.
Germany's highest-elevation hotel-owned 18-hole golf course, right on the property. At almost 1,000m altitude, the course covers 55 hectares with panoramic views from the Bavarian Alps to the Swiss mountains. Frank Rainalter manages it using only regionally native plants for sustainable course care. A Pro Shop stocks golf clothing, shoes, clubs, and bags. Green fees are included in golf packages.
