Hard Days Night Hotel
Upscale Beatles pilgrimage hotel that restrains the theme just enough to stay on the right side of elegant. Heritage Victorian building, rich dark woods, leather armchairs, original artwork. More art gallery than theme park.
Rooms on the city side of the building are quieter than those facing Mathew Street — worth requesting when booking, especially on Friday/Saturday nights.
Why It Matters
Genuinely the only hotel in the world fully dedicated to The Beatles, and it's right around the corner from the Cavern Club. Managed by Millennium Hotels since 2015, it opened in 2008 during Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture. The Lennon Suite has a white baby grand piano; the McCartney Suite holds Sir Paul's Certificate of Freedom of the City of Liverpool. In 2025 the hotel won TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice Award and holds Green Tourism Bronze accreditation.
The world's only Beatles-themed hotel, set inside Grade II-listed Central Buildings on North John Street — a Victorian-era pile dating to 1884, just steps from the Cavern Club. It could have been kitsch. It isn't. The 110 rooms are individually designed around the original building's odd contours, decorated with commissioned Beatles artwork rather than cheap memorabilia, and all fitted with Hypnos beds. The themed touches are layered and specific: 'Do Not Disturb' signs that read 'Let It Be', a central spiral staircase used as a chronological photo gallery of the band, and original paintings by Paul Ygartua — who studied at Liverpool Art College with John Lennon — covering the walls of Bar Four.

How you'll actually spend your days.
The hotel's entire building functions as an informal gallery. The central spiral staircase is a chronological Beatles photo gallery from ground floor (early Cavern Club days) through to the top floor (later years). Commissioned portraits by New York artist Shannon MacDonald line the guest corridors. Bar Four holds the Ygartua originals. Front desk staff and the concierge can explain the stories behind the key pieces.
The concierge team is knowledgeable about Liverpool's Beatles history and can arrange city bus tours, Magical Mystery Bus tours to Penny Lane and Strawberry Field, and access to the Cavern Club. These are third-party ticketed experiences arranged on request.
The hotel partners with regional golf courses in the Liverpool and Lancashire area, including access to championship links courses on England's Golf Coast (Royal Birkdale, Royal Liverpool, Lytham). Golf break packages can be arranged through the hotel.
Cavern Club resident musicians perform in Bar Four every Friday and Saturday evening from 5:30pm. The Live Lounge has become a genuine draw for non-guests as well as hotel visitors. Beatles covers and broader classic rock set lists are typical.
The hotel has a collection of event suites accommodating up to 180 guests (theatre-style up to 120 delegates). Beatles-themed aesthetic with original photographic artwork. Suitable for conferences, weddings, gala dinners, and private celebrations. Day delegate rate from £19.64 per person based on 50+ guests.
