Henriett
Maximalist French-meets-Georgian boutique. Warm palette, rounded armchairs, fabric panels, marble baseboards, glazed arches with Italianate references. Pink and blue room hues with art deco headboard details. Intimate and residential rather than grand.
Book the Grand London Eye Junior Suite for a private terrace with rooftop and London Eye views — rare at this price point in central London
Why It Matters
Part of the Experimental Group's global portfolio, Henrietta is the group's first London hotel. The on-site restaurant Henri is now led by celebrated British chef Jackson Boxer, who reinvented it as a Parisian bistro. Historically, the townhouse at 14 Henrietta Street was the London office of Victor Gollancz Ltd., publisher of George Orwell and John Le Carré.
Henrietta Experimental is the London outpost of the Experimental Group — the Paris-born hospitality empire that started with a cocktail bar on a quiet street in 2007. Set inside two Georgian townhouses on Henrietta Street (one of which was the former home of publisher Victor Gollancz Ltd., who put out George Orwell and John Le Carré), it sits a hawker's cry from Covent Garden Market. Designer Dorothée Meilichzon — the same hand behind the Grand Pigalle in Paris — filled the 40 rooms with terracotta tones, botanical prints, mosaic-patterned carpets, and 1970s-inflected custom furniture. The result is a hotel that feels genuinely residential rather than corporate, which is a hard thing to pull off in this part of London.
