Hoeve de Haar Boutique B&B
Historic Dutch farmhouse with boutique B&B sensibility. Warm and personal — owners greet guests themselves. The old Hunting Room and library give it genuine character. Think Twente countryside character over slick hotel polish.
The Boutique Suite (Room 7 at 50 m²) has a full sitting area and extra bed option — worth the upgrade for longer stays
Why It Matters
Dutch national monument (rijksmonument) status. Michelin-recommended. Rated among the top 5 boutique B&Bs in the Netherlands by Michelin and TripAdvisor. Unique position on the 650-year-old Twickel Estate with private estate access for guests.
A 1927 farmhouse that started life leased from the aristocratic neighbors at Twickel Castle, then doubled as a hunting lodge for the Stork manufacturing family — that dual history is what got it listed as a national monument. Today it's a polished seven-room B&B sitting right on the edge of the Twickel Estate, the largest private estate in the Netherlands at 4,000 hectares. Rooms are ground-floor, individually styled, and each has its own exterior door. Breakfast is included and made largely from regional products.
