One of the very few historic lakefront properties on Garda with a genuine design pedigree — Piero Lissoni, the architect behind the Conservatorium in Amsterdam, oversaw the interiors. It also holds a place in history: during WWII it housed German Embassy officials. Today it's listed on Tablet Hotels and consistently rated among the best 5-star properties on the western lake shore.
Built in 1904 by Italian hotelier Giuseppe Cipani — the only Garda lakeshore hotel of Italian origin at the time — this Neoclassical villa on the western shore of Lake Garda was later redesigned by architect Piero Lissoni. The result is old-world bones (stone terraces, ornate ironwork, century-old park palms) dressed in sharp contemporary style: Klimt-inspired headboards, oak parquet floors, marble bathrooms, and a 20x7-metre infinity pool that seems to spill straight into the lake. It's 5-star but wears it lightly: elegant without feeling stiff, and genuinely cosmopolitan.
