Hotel Copernicus
Medieval-meets-modern Polish grandeur. Think dark wood, velvet, marble bathrooms, and genuine Renaissance frescoes — all pulled off without feeling stuffy. The property is small (29 rooms), quiet, and feels genuinely historic rather than themed.

Why It Matters
Poland's first and only Relais & Châteaux member. Awarded Two Michelin Keys. The restaurant has hosted two Polish Nobel laureates, U.S. president George W. Bush, King Charles III, Václav Havel, Helmut Kohl, Morgan Freeman, and Roman Polański. The Daily Telegraph called it one of the most beautiful hotels in the world.
Hotel Copernicus is a five-star boutique hotel set inside a Gothic townhouse on Kanonicza Street — Kraków's oldest street — a 3-minute walk from Wawel Royal Castle. It opened in 2000 after a careful restoration that preserved the building's Renaissance frescoes, carved stone portals, and original wooden ceilings. The hotel was the first in Poland to join Relais & Châteaux, and it has since collected Two Michelin Keys and a 'Best Spa in Poland' title from World Spa Awards.
