Why It Matters
Only 16 rooms sitting directly on Palma's most storied civic square, designed by one of Spain's most celebrated interior designers. The building's bank-vault history shows in the labyrinthine corridors and high ceilings. The Island Suite's private rooftop Jacuzzi with sea views is genuinely one-of-a-kind in central Palma.
Hotel Cort is a 16-room boutique hotel occupying a former Atlantic Bank building on Palma's most famous square, Plaça de Cort. Opened in 2013 and redesigned by Barcelona designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán — the same hand behind Hotel Pulitzer in Buenos Aires — the place leans hard into a maritime-Moorish aesthetic: hand-painted Delft-style tiles, sea charts on the walls, models of yachts, and surfboards leaning in corners. It's intimate, full of character, and directly opposite the city's 17th-century town hall and a centuries-old, famously gnarled olive tree.

The entry-level room and the only true double (non-suite) in the hotel. At 22m2 it's compact — the smallest space in the building — but well-designed with a double shower and plaza-facing position. Decked out in the hotel's signature Moorish tile and maritime palette.

The hotel's flagship — a 70m2 duplex on the top floor with a 20m2 private roof terrace overlooking Plaza Cort and the sea. Genuinely spectacular for the location.
