Why It Matters
One of only 31 hotels in France to hold the official 'Palace' designation — the country's highest hotel classification. The building itself is a classified national heritage landmark. Holds history that includes Marie Antoinette taking piano lessons in what is now Suite Marie-Antoinette, and underwent the most significant renovation in its history (2013–2017) involving 147 craftsmen and 250 master builders.
A neoclassical palace commissioned by Louis XV in 1758, converted into a hotel in 1909, and reopened in 2017 after a four-year, €176 million renovation under Rosewood. It sits on the Place de la Concorde, one of the most historically loaded addresses in all of Paris. The building itself holds classified heritage status from the French government — the grand salons on the second floor are landmarks, not just decor. Inside, four Paris-based designers split up the interiors, and Karl Lagerfeld took two of the signature suites for his own 18th-century-obsessed vision. And underneath all that grandeur, the tech is thoroughly modern: 500 Mbps WiFi, TV mirrors, Bluetooth speakers.

Three rooms on the 7th and top floor of the palace — one room and two suites — each named for a different artistic discipline (Le Poète, L'Écrivain, Le Peintre). They have terraces or balconies overlooking the Paris roofscape and Eiffel Tower. A slightly different feel from the rest of the hotel — lighter, more atelier-like.

Purpose-built for families at 100 sqm. Two separate living rooms, two spacious bedrooms with king beds, and two large marble bathrooms. Probably the most practical large accommodation at the Crillon for families travelling with kids.

The larger is 176 sqm; the smaller 125 sqm — and the two can be combined with an adjoining room into a three-bedroom apartment. Bespoke Lagerfeld furniture, chandeliers from his personal collection (one with crystals hand-selected by Lagerfeld himself), textured grey walls requiring nine layers of paint, and a bathtub carved from a single block of Carrara marble weighing over two tonnes (lifted in by crane). Views of the Eiffel Tower, Grand Palais, Musée d'Orsay, and Place de la Concorde simultaneously.
