Hotel des Dunes is Cap Ferret's original hotel — opened in 1969 and completely overhauled into something special. From the outside, it looks exactly like the oyster shacks that dot the peninsula: pine cladding, tamarisk hedges, low profile. Inside, the vibe flips to California-meets-Hamptons, with minimalist rooms, curated surf gear, and a private sandy trail that puts you on the Atlantic in under 50 meters. No TVs anywhere, by design.

No private outdoor space, but it faces the garden and you're about 30 seconds from the hotel's shared terrace. Minimalist decor, quality bedding, organic toiletries. Good for guests who plan to spend most of their time outside.

Over 30m² with a master bedroom plus a separate living room with a quality sofa bed — sleeps up to four. Large private terrace included. This is also the room type the hotel's management used as a sample in their TripAdvisor replies, describing it as '11 chambres et 2 suites' — so only two of these exist.

A private sandy path from the hotel leads directly to the Atlantic Ocean — approximately 50 meters. An outdoor shower and rinse station for surf/kite gear is located at the rue des Courlis ramp. Beach towels and umbrellas available from reception.
Hotel partner WIP Surfboards — a shaper based on the peninsula — has created boards available for sale. The hotel also refers guests to the best local rental shops and surf instructors in Cap Ferret.
