Hotel Franks
Modern-alpine wellness resort with family-run warmth. Think exposed timber and oak parquet mixed with contemporary furniture, multiple distinct dining and relaxation spaces rather than one monolithic aesthetic, and staff who know your name. Not stuffy or corporate — genuinely friendly.
Ask for a south-facing room or suite — the balcony views of the ski jump and Nebelhorn are the best in the house
Why It Matters
One of the most fully-realized wellness hotels in the Bavarian Alps: the spa alone spans three levels (valley, summit, garden), the rooftop onsen pools are a standout addition since 2023, the Frank family is genuinely present and hands-on, and nearly every practical holiday need — hiking gear, ski passes, cable car tickets, golf discounts — is bundled into the base rate.
Hotel Franks is a 5-star, family-run wellness resort in the Allgäu Alps, operated by the Frank family (currently Cora Bethke-Frank and Mara Frank) with a team of around 80. The hotel blends alpine warmth with genuine, first-name-basis hospitality across 73 individually designed rooms and suites. Its calling card is a sprawling 3,000+ sqm spa across three distinct levels — including a rooftop Gipfel-Spa with outdoor onsen pools — alongside serious hiking, skiing, and sustainability credentials.
