Why It Matters
Selected by both the Michelin Guide and Tablet Hotels — rare for a small guesthouse of just 8 rooms in a Brandenburg village. The historic denkmalgeschützte (listed) farmstead setting, personal family ownership since 1991, and the combination of genuine rural atmosphere with modern comfort is what sets it apart. Also offers a separate private holiday apartment in Fresdorf (7 min drive) with 80 sqm and 3,000 sqm of private garden.
A former farmstead sitting directly across from the oldest fortified church in the Brandenburg March — that's the setting for this owner-run guesthouse in the tiny village of Wildenbruch, within the Michendorf municipality. Ralf Weißmann and family have been hosting guests here since 1991, and the property has evolved considerably: it now runs fully contactless with digital self check-in and no on-site restaurant. Rooms are individually designed, modern inside the historic shell, and the cobblestone courtyard with a 200-year-old chestnut tree makes you feel like you've actually left the 21st century behind.
