A 19th-century neoclassical mansion — designed in 1869 by architect Louis Delacenserie and later converted from a private aristocratic residence and bank — transformed into one of Bruges' most intimate 5-star hotels. Just one block north of the Market Square, it's quiet enough that you forget how central you are. The 22 individually decorated rooms lean hard into Louis XVI elegance: think wainscoting, crystal chandeliers, original ceiling frescos, and marble bathrooms. But the building's oldest bones, a 14th-century vaulted cellar, now houses the gym and spa, which is one of those only-in-Europe combinations that actually works.

More breathing room than the Classic — a sitting area makes this noticeably more comfortable. Marble bathroom with either bath or shower (separate, and you can request which on booking).
