Indigo Hong Kong Island
Design-forward urban boutique, locally anchored in Wan Chai culture — colorful, art-filled, neighborhood-obsessed without being try-hard about it.
The free-flow wine at Skybar (3–9 PM daily) with rotating New World and Old World selections is genuinely good value — show up early for a window seat before it fills up
Why It Matters
Won the Asia Pacific Property Award 2013 for Best Hotel Architecture, Hong Kong. The golden-dragon exterior design uses the shading patterns of neighboring buildings to create the dragon's silhouette — pure architectural theater. One of the few hotels in Hong Kong with a genuine glass-bottomed outdoor infinity pool.
A 138-room boutique hotel in Wan Chai designed by Aedas, and it turns heads immediately. The exterior is a shimmering bronze dragon formed from solar fins that wrap the entire facade — sunlight hits the glass scales and the whole building shifts color throughout the day. Inside, expect bold graphic patterns, a vivid electric-blue staircase inspired by the historic Blue House cluster, and original artwork throughout, including one-meter-tall statues of local kung fu master Lam Jo by local artists (they're for sale, if you're tempted). The glass-bottomed cantilevered infinity pool on the 29th floor is the main event, but note it closes seasonally from October through April.

How you'll actually spend your days.
Swim in the glass-bottomed cantilevered pool on the 29th floor. Looking down through the glass floor is the experience — it's vertigo-inducing and worth it. Open 8:00 AM–7:30 PM. Closed October through April (seasonal).
Free-flow red and white wine daily from 3–9 PM at the rooftop Skybar, with rotating wine themes every two months. The 29th-floor views across Wan Chai at golden hour are hard to beat.
The hotel provides local area guides for exploring Wan Chai on foot — Old Wan Chai Post Office directly opposite, Pak Tai Temple nearby, Wan Chai Market a short walk, and Happy Valley Racecourse about 0.6 km away.
