Ask for a room with a view of Avenue Président-Kennedy — several room types offer it and it's worth requesting

Why It Matters

The property that launched Montreal's boutique hotel scene — a converted 1960s engineer's office tower that beat the big chains at their own game. Now MICHELIN Key-certified two years running, with a French brasserie restaurant that attracts non-guests on its own merits.

The hotel that started Montreal's boutique revolution. Originally a 15-story concrete office block built in 1967 for Quebec's professional engineers, it became Le Germain in 1999 and rewrote what a downtown Montreal hotel could be. The interiors — all dark wood, marble, and angular pendant lights — were redesigned by architect Zébulon Perron with a contemporary take on 1960s modernism. It holds a MICHELIN Key for the second consecutive year, and Le Boulevardier restaurant downstairs is a genuine destination in its own right.

The Apartment Suite

The hotel's largest unit at 975 sq ft. It has a large private terrace, a separate dining room, and the same 1960s-inspired Perron design but stretched across a genuinely residential footprint. Two adults maximum occupancy. If you want privacy to host guests or need space to spread out, this is the one.

The Classic Queen
Standard

The Classic Queen

The entry-level room, and still very good. The 60s-inspired design by Zébulon Perron gives it real character — angular lights, dark wood tones — while goose down duvets, feather pillows, and curated amenities make the comfort thoroughly modern. Some rooms offer unobstructed views of Avenue Président-Kennedy.

Standard

The Classique King

Same 60s-modern Zébulon Perron design as the Classic Queen but with a king bed. Goose down duvet, feather pillows, Egyptian cotton sheets, Nespresso machine, minibar — all the same thoughtful touches. A solid choice if you need the extra bed width.

Deluxe with View

The Prestige with a View

Spacious, bright, and designed to show off the view of Avenue Président-Kennedy through large windows. The bedding is the same luxurious Marie l'Oie goose down setup, but the light flooding the room and the city perspective make this one genuinely premium.

The Round Bed

Exactly what it says. A round bed with feather pillows, Egyptian cotton sheets, and a goose down duvet. It's a fun room — a nod to the hotel's 60s design sensibility taken to its logical conclusion. Not the biggest room, but a memorable one.

The Signature
Deluxe

The Signature

A step up from the Classic. Feather pillows piled on a king bed, heavy goose down duvet, Egyptian cotton sheets — the bedding is from Marie l'Oie, a renowned Canadian brand. The room has the same sharp Perron design language but more generous proportions.
